Tools Required

  • Slip solution (water and a few drops of baby shampoo)
  • Tack solution (isopropyl alcohol and water)
  • Soft and hard squeegees
  • Microfiber towels
  • Heat gun
  • Clay bar and lubricant
  • Spray bottles

Step By Step

  1. Step 1

Work indoors, out of direct sun. Wash the Toyota Tacoma, then decontaminate the hood, bumper, fenders and mirror caps with clay and an alcohol wipe so no wax or sealant is left behind.

  2. Step 2

Lay out the kit and match each precut piece to its panel before you spray anything. Check every piece against the panel dry so you know the orientation.

  3. Step 3

Mix slip solution (water with a few drops of baby shampoo) and a tack solution of isopropyl alcohol and water in separate bottles. Wet your hands and the panel generously.

  4. Step 4

Start with the bumper. Peel the liner, spray the adhesive side, float the piece into position and set the center with a soft squeegee before working outward.

  5. Step 5

Move to the hood and fenders. Squeegee from the middle out in overlapping passes, then use the tack solution at the edges so they hold.

  6. Step 6

Wrap or tuck the edges where the pattern allows, warm any relief areas with a heat gun on low, and press them down with a microfiber-wrapped squeegee.

  7. Step 7

Finish the mirror caps and headlights, wipe the perimeter dry, and let the film sit. Avoid washing or heavy weather while it settles.
