Tools Required
- Slip solution (water and a few drops of baby shampoo)
- Hard card and squeegee
- Heat gun
- Lint-free towels
- Razor knife with fresh blades
- Spray bottles
Step By Step
- Step 1
Clean the inside and outside of every window on the Ford F-150 twice — scrub with slip solution, squeegee, then wipe the gaskets and edges with a lint-free towel.
- Step 2
Identify each precut piece and set it aside in order. Keep the pieces flat and clean while you work.
- Step 3
Lay a piece on the outside of the glass, liner side to the glass, and shrink it with the heat gun until it matches the curve with no fingers left in the film.
- Step 4
Drop the door glass slightly so you can reach the top edge, spray the inside of the window, peel the liner and spray the adhesive side as you go.
- Step 5
Slide the film into place from the top, set the top edge into the channel first, then squeegee down the center and outward.
- Step 6
Do the rear windshield last. Take your time with the shrink and use a hard card wrapped in a towel over any defroster lines.
- Step 7
Squeegee out all remaining moisture, edge every side, and keep the windows up for a few days while the film dries.
